The government has declared a general holiday from March 25 to April 3 to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Depending on the situation, the usual holiday holidays may be extended to Baisakh. The issue was discussed at an unannounced meeting at Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official residence Ganabhaban on Monday.
The meeting was attended by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Planning Minister MA Mannan and several ministers. A meeting could be held at the Ganabhaban on Tuesday. The final decision will be made there. Apart from the Prime Minister, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Minister of Food, Public Administration, Minister of State for Relief and Disaster will be present in the meeting. In addition, secretary level officials of various ministries, including the Ministry of Health, will be present.
The educational institute will open on April 5, but it will open after the Ramadan Eid. As they say, the educational institutions are closed as well as the residential halls of the respective institutions have been closed. Due to this the students have returned home. Now if the educational institute is started, all the students will return to the respective institutions, which may increase the risk. Therefore, it has been announced that the educational institution will be opened after Eidul Fitr.
Guidance has been given to the poor about proper distribution of money, food among the poor from the government funds. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined a video conference with the officials of 4 districts from Ganabhaban to coordinate ongoing activities across the country to prevent corona virus at 9am this morning.
